Vintage The Tempo Hanseat Tricycle taxis at Pathankot, Punjab, India. 2010. The Tempo Hanseat, originally developed as a cheap cargo transport in post war Germany, was created as a combination of motorcycle and flatbed truck, equipped with a two-stroke Otto engine in front of the cab. Modifications with benches in the rear facilitated use as public transport. In India the Tempo Hanseat, popularly know as “Soonwars” (pigs), remained in production by from 1962 to 2000.
